Halim Mazmin Group
About Company
Halim Mazmin Group (HMG) is a well-established and diversified Malaysian conglomerate founded in 1980 by Tan Sri Halim Mohammad, a prominent figure in Malaysia’s shipping and logistics sector. Over four decades, HMG has grown from a local shipping company into a multi-industry group with strategic interests spanning maritime transportation, aviation, education, hospitality, and property investment.
Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, with major maritime operations located in Port Klang, HMG was the parent company of Halim Mazmin Berhad, which was listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia in 2003 before later being privatized. The group initially made its mark in the international shipping sector, managing bulk carriers, container vessels, and tankers operating across regional and global trade routes. Its marine logistics operations supported not only commercial shipping but also offshore support services and port operations.
In addition to its shipping legacy, HMG has expanded into aviation and education through the establishment of the International Maritime and Aviation Training Academy (IMAT), aiming to produce skilled professionals in seafaring, port management, and flight operations. HMG also owns Splash Out Langkawi, a family-oriented water theme park in Kedah, and has invested in high-end hospitality and property ventures, reflecting its transformation into a full-fledged holding company with diversified revenue streams.
HMG’s sustained success is built on a foundation of operational excellence, strategic partnerships, and a long-term vision for contributing to national development—especially in the maritime and logistics industries. With a focus on grooming future talent, embracing innovation, and adhering to international standards, Halim Mazmin Group remains a respected name in Malaysia’s corporate landscape and a pioneer in advancing the maritime sector in the region.
